Expansion of MixSep Technology Patent Portfolio

Sigris Research's patent portfolio now comprises eight allowed US patents
(6033574, 6228268, 6231760, 6500343, 6884357, 7476313, 7517457, 7632405) and
two pending applications (2009/0173681, 2009/0211956) as well as patents issued in other countries.
The MixSep™ is based on a rapidly changing direction of magnetic field which suspends and mixes magnetic particles without agitating the test medium. It provides superior mixing efficiency through a high collision frequency between particles and target to provide a high rate of affinity binding without fluid shear. Purification efficiency in terms of yield and purity are greatly improved over conventional techniques. The unique combination of mixing and separation function in a single compact mechanism significantly simplifies instrumentation development. This platform technology has a wide range of applications for the purification needs in molecular and cell biology.
